Born in Würzburg. Study of psychology at the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg. 1994 – 1999 research assistant at the Department of Biological and Clinical Psychology, University of Würzburg. Since 2000 at the Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry, Munich, 2004 to 2005 head of the research group Psychobiology, since 2006 head of the research group Molecular Psychology.
