Born 1961 in Wiesbaden. Study of medicine and philosophy at the University of Mainz and Heidelberg. 1986 - 89 Research Assistant in Psychiatry at the University of Marburg and Freiburg and for Human Genetics at the University of Heidelberg. 1990 Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry, Munich, since 1994 head of a research group "Molecular Neuroendocrinology" at the MPI. 1992 Guest positions at the ZMBH, Heidelberg and 1993 + 1997 at the CNRS/INSERM, Montpellier, France.
